Our last session of Seed2Seed Foundation Course for 2011

This Saturday will be the completion for 8 students of a wonderful  journey of learning and discovery.  They all started last March and have covered some amazing sessions around the themes of : Growing Life and Food in our most cemented places.  See below.  We are about to launch out our Seed2Seed course 2012 with some exciting tutors and guests.

MARCH – Soil, Sun and Water + containers

Learn about soil, loam, compost, wormeries,  the living organisms of soil and natural fertilisers ( nettle, comfrey etc…). Start planning your growing year.

APRIL – Planning + planting

Plan your growing year and prepare your containers.

MAY – Urban biodiversity (guest speaker)

Learn about our urban biodiversity & how to support and increase our pollinators environment. Make a bug or a bee hotel.

JUNE – Permaculture (guest speaker)

Learn how to design food growing systems that works with nature.

JULY – Create beauty in Sustainability

Create beautiful and sustainable growing spaces.  Collect rain water, explore skips, recycle, re-use, arts, crafts, waste network and up-cycle.

SEPT – Biodynamic (guest speaker)

Learn about the influence of the moon, planets and water on your crop for a better yield & planning your winter crop.

OCT – Harvest,  Preserve and collect seeds

Learn how to preserve, dry and collect your own seeds for next year. Harvest Festival on the roof!  Learn to harvest your own food  throughout the course.

NOV – Plan next year

Plan next year for successful growing. Plans, support, resources, community, further learning, funding, network and seeds!
